OCIA Schedule

The ministry begins on Sunday, August 23, 2026 and continues through the Easter Vigil on March 27, 2027, with optional Mystagogy classes afterwards.

Attend Sunday 10:00am Mass.  After the homily, the OCIA community is dismissed and has class in the St. Ignatius Room until 12:15pm.

There is no OCIA class over major holiday periods: Thanksgiving weekend and Christmas through New Year’s Break.

We will attend the Rite of Election service with all OCIA communities in the Diocese of San Diego. This service is led by the Bishop of San Diego. The Rite of Election Date and Location are TDB.

We have an OCIA Retreat on Saturday, Feb. 27, 12-4pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

The Scrutinies take place the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of Lent, when your sponsor should be present with you in Mass.

Easter is on Sunday, March 28. You will attend the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening, March 27, with rehearsal on Saturday morning.
