The OCIA Schedule for 2025 – 2026

Attend Sunday 10:00am Mass.  After the homily, the OCIA community is dismissed and has class in the St. Ignatius Room for 90 minutes, from ~10:30am to 12noon.

The program begins on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025 and continues through the Easter Vigil on April 4, 2026, with optional Mystagogy classes afterwards.

There is no OCIA class on holiday weekends and holiday periods: Thanksgiving (Nov. 30), Christmas through New Year’s Break (Dec 21, Dec. 28, Jan. 4), and the Sunday preceding Monday holiday of Presidents’ Day (Feb. 15).

We will attend the Rite of Election service with all OCIA communities in the Diocese of San Diego. This service is led by the Bishop of San Diego. The Rite of Election is on Sunday, March 1 at 3pm at the Jenny Craig Pavilion at USD. There will be no OCIA that day.

We have an OCIA Retreat on Saturday, March 21, 1-4pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

The Scrutinies take place the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of Lent (March 8, 15, 22), when your sponsor should be present with you in Mass.

Easter is on Sunday, April 5. You will attend the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening, April 4, with rehearsal on Saturday morning.
